Forged carbon is not woven. It is short fiber pressed into shape, and no two results are alike.
Forged carbon comes from aerospace and motorsport. Short carbon fibers are pressed into form under high pressure. The result is a material that looks organic, almost mineral, with a pattern that never repeats. Two instruments made from forged carbon never look the same. That is not a design decision, that is the material itself.
The Forged Edition No. 4 is the fourth instrument of its kind to leave our workshop. Entirely black, from the body to the head. No contrast, no accent, nothing to distract from the pattern.
Inside it carries the full mf | solo setup. Anima Nova carbon sound post, Milo Stamm Royal bridge fitted individually, Wittner fine tuning pegs with Swarovski detail and Pirastro Perpetual Cadenza strings. The result is a violin with a soloist's character: precise, carrying, with a warmth you might not expect from this material.
The pickup is a built-in Cordasonus. A proprietary treated crystal from a German ceramics technology company sits in the bridge and registers pressure changes there and nothing else. Connects through a 6.3 mm jack, no battery. It rotates in the bridge and can be tuned tonally in 45 degree steps.
Forged carbon carries no woven pattern but one that has grown. Every instrument gets a surface of its own. This one is No. 4.
