The mf | pure cello shows what a carbon fiber instrument is at its core: tone, durability and feel, with nothing added for decoration. The surface stays unlacquered, the material speaks for itself.

The idea

A full instrument from our workshop, built to the same standards, in the same rooms, by the same hands. The accessible price does not come from cutting back on material or workmanship but from a streamlined production route: the elaborate lacquering is left out.

Tone

A large, resonant sound with natural warmth in the low register and clear presence across all strings. The response takes less bow pressure than comparable wooden instruments, and articulation is there at once, in every position. Qualities usually expected in considerably higher price brackets.

Finish

Polished raw carbon, dark anthracite, with a silky sheen. No lacquer, no maintenance. Scratches settle into the material structure instead of showing. Perspiration, temperature swings and humidity have no effect on tone or substance.

• Pegs: Wittner fine tuning pegs, stable in any climate
• Fingerboard: NFC composite, smooth and durable, feels like ebony
• Materials: entirely vegan, no animal components at any stage of production
