Acoustically Selected. Certified for Soloists. Built in Germany.

The PremiumLine Violin is not a production instrument. It is the result of a rigorous selection process: only about one in twenty bodies we manufacture achieves the acoustic properties required for this line. What sets these instruments apart cannot be engineered on demand – it emerges from the precision of our manufacturing and the subtle variations in fiber structure and resin distribution that produce an exceptional tonal signature.

100 % CARBON FIBER MADE IN GERMANY ACOUSTICALLY SELECTED APPROX. 10–12 INSTRUMENTS / YEAR

Selection

In carbon fiber manufacturing – just as with wood – there are what luthiers call "golden samples": instruments that, through minute variations in material structure, stand out acoustically from the rest of production. We identify these bodies early in the process and route them into a dedicated production line.

Before an instrument receives PremiumLine certification, it must pass three stages:

  • Audiometric Analysis: Measurement of frequency spectrum, volume, and overtone behaviour – only instruments with a superior acoustic profile advance.
  • Four-Ear Principle: Two independent professional violinists play the instrument blind and must unanimously confirm its qualification.
  • Finish Inspection: Only when sound and surface are equally flawless does the instrument proceed to final finishing and certification.

Sound

The PremiumLine offers dynamic reserves that go beyond what our DesignLine – already a professional instrument – delivers. It does not saturate even under extreme bow pressure and opens up a tonal palette that meets the demands of solo performance. An instrument of this calibre won the German Musical Instruments Award in 2015 – in direct competition with 21 master-built wooden violins.

  • Dynamics: Exceptional range from pianissimo to fortissimo – without compression, without limits.
  • Projection: Carries effortlessly through large concert halls. Engineered for solo presence.
  • Overtone Spectrum: Rich and complex – a sound that combines depth with brilliance.

Components

A selected body deserves components without compromise. The PremiumLine ships with fittings specifically chosen to support the instrument's acoustic character:

  • Sound Post: Anima Nova Carbon – height-adjustable, for optimal vibration transfer between top and back plate.
  • Bridge: Milo Stamm Royal – hand-carved, for superior response and tonal transmission.
  • Strings: Pirastro Perpetual – designed for solo projection and brilliance.
  • Pegs: Wittner fine-tuning pegs with Swarovski crystals – precise tuning, and a subtle hallmark of the PremiumLine.

Optional: Hybrid

The PremiumLine Violin is also available as a Hybrid version with a permanently integrated ANS pickup (AbsoluteNaturalSound). The system is based on dynamic microphone technology and captures the instrument's natural voice – warm, detailed, free from the harshness of piezo-based systems. Connection via standard 1/4" (6.3 mm) jack, plug & play, no battery required.

Availability

Only about 5 % of our production qualifies for the PremiumLine, resulting in approximately 10–12 instruments per year. Availability cannot be forced. When a PremiumLine Violin is available, you receive an instrument of rare acoustic quality – a unique piece from our workshop.

mezzo-forte instruments are developed and handcrafted entirely in Germany. Winner of the German Musical Instruments Award 2015.

The PremiumLine Violin is available exclusively as a 4-string model in the described configuration. Custom RAL color finishes are not available, in order to preserve the acoustic integrity of the selected body.
