The 6-string cello is a rarity. Only a handful of luthiers worldwide dare to attempt this complex construction. We accepted the challenge and created an instrument that defies physics: A cello that responds perfectly across this massive, extended tonal range.

A Masterpiece of Engineering

A 6-string is not just a cello with two extra pegs. The statics and geometry must be completely re-imagined.

• The Challenge: The balancing act between an extremely low F-string (bass territory) and a brilliant high E-string (viola territory) pushes traditional materials to their breaking point.
• The Solution: Our specially tuned carbon body provides the necessary stiffness and resonance to handle this frequency spectrum without "wolf tones" or response issues. The result is an immediate, clear reaction – whether in the deepest lows or the highest highs.

Playability by Design

To keep six strings playable, the setup is critical. We use a widened neck and a custom-crafted fingerboard. The string spacing and the curve of the bridge are calibrated so precisely that you can bow each string cleanly without touching adjacent ones. A playing feel only possible through 100% precision manufacturing.

Since this instrument is often used in crossover and jazz settings, we supply it only in the best possible configuration:

• Hybrid System (Included): The pickup is already permanently installed. You are instantly ready for loop stations, amplifiers, or the studio.
• Anima Nova: The height-adjustable carbon soundpost is mandatory here to perfectly balance the tension of 6 strings onto the body.
• Fingerboard: Widened custom fingerboard made of Ebony (ensuring optimal tactile feel for this neck width).
• Strings: A premium mix: Pirastro Perpetual (C, G, D, A) combined with Pirastro Permanent (High-E and Low-F).
• Bridge: Milo Stamm Master Bridge, individually fitted.

Important Ordering Note: The 6-string cello is a highly complex specialty instrument ("Custom Shop"). It is usually not kept in stock but is built exclusively for you. Please anticipate a corresponding production time.
